To synthesize and update existing ASUCD iOS apps, including the UC Davis Mobile app, and work in a team environment to design and build the frontend and backend for the apps, including collaborating with IET on the Android version of the UC Davis Mobile app.
Will work individually and under supervision to develop robust and maintainable iOS apps; this process will include meeting with clients to gather specifications, collaborating with graphics designers to implement designs, and deploying new features to users and backend APIs to production servers. Will also assist in support tasks related to the app.
Must demonstrate good independent learning and organization skills. Must exemplify frontend and backend expertise, including user experience design skill and an understanding of computer networking (particularly HTTP). Must demonstrate core understanding of the iOS Human Interface Guidelines and best practices for developing iOS apps.
Must demonstrate fluency in Swift and/or Objective-C, Core Data, and JSON.
Must be comfortable working in a UNIX environment; and have a basic understanding of file permissions, SSH, Vim, and Git source control. A working knowledge of web programming frameworks such as Django, Bootstrap, or Flask is a plus.
