Purpose

  • Meet with Director and Assistant Director and spearhead specialized marketing campaigns to effectively reach the UC Davis student body.
  • Constantly strategize practices to increase Entertainment Council reach to the UC Davis student body and develop new ways in which to do so.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

  • Develop creative, specialized marketing campaigns for all events.
  • Once strategy is created, delegate tasks to the rest of the EC promotion team for execution.
  • Oversee physical printing of flyers and event posters.
  • Oversee online media (such as website, Facebook, and Tumblr).
  • Main contact for outside media and press inquiries (such as the Aggie and Sacramento newspaper/radio).
  • Manage branding of Entertainment Council as an ASUCD service.
  • Coordinate chalking and tabling schedule for staff and volunteers.
  • Manage production and sale of branded merchandise
  • Run promotional giveaways (primarily tickets to EC shows as well as shows in the local area).
  • As with all EC staff, is willing to chalk at 6am for one hour/wk to promote upcoming events (does not apply for every week).
  • As with all EC staff, is willing to table in the Quad two hours/wk to promote upcoming events (does not apply for every week).
  • As with all EC staff, must be able to attend a weekly staff meeting that will take place either on Monday or Tuesday.
  • Available in Davis over part of summer for training and initial work on 2012-13 entertainment programming marketing strategy.

Skills

  • Flexible work schedule and ability to accomplish tasks with short notice.
  • Able to make Entertainment Council a priority.
  • Interested in how human attention works and preferable experience in marketing and design.
  • Creatively inclined both in contemporary marketing strategies as well as artistically.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop highly preferred, but not required.
  • Self motivated.
  • Strong interest in marketing and campaign strategies
  • Outgoing and confident.
  • Comfortable delegating tasks to others and able to oversee and work with a team.
  • Familiarity with ASUCD and experience working with Entertainment Council as a volunteer, intern, of staff member is preferred, but not required.
