Purpose

Organize and supervise Support Services Staff in order to keep all Unitrans equipment and facilities in the best appearance, with particular emphasis on bus exteriors and interiors.

Duties

• Organize and supervise cleaning, including:

o Ensuring cleaning occurs daily with evening and weekend crews

o Coordinating with Operations, Specializes Transportation Services and other outside companies to determine which vehicles need to be cleaned

o Ensuring all vehicles cleaned meet quality control standards

• Supervise Support Services staff, including:

o Conduct meetings with Support Services staff on a quarterly basis

o Must provide company information and policies to the Support Services staff

o Coordinate with Human Resources Manager to recruit and hire Support Services Supervisors and Assistants

o Coordinate with the Training Manager for vehicle operation training in the parking lot

o Coordinate bus washer training

o Immediately report all vehicle accidents to the Route Supervisor

o Notify the Route Supervisor, Dispatcher, or a shop representative of any damage discovered during the cleaning process

o Work with the Assistant General Manager of Operations to file worker’s compensation claims and to conduct investigations, along with updating staff manuals with current company information and policies

o Responsible for bi-weekly payroll records

o Maintain the Support Services Strike Policy

• Maintain cleaning equipment, washing area and stock of cleaning equipment:

o Oversee maintenance of the bus washer

 Ensure bus washer operates as designed

 Perform minor repairs, if necessary

 Report any problems to shop representatives

o Ensure that the wash pad and bus wash area are cleaned

o Maintain stock of cleaning equipment

 Maintain inventory of printed Support Services forms

 Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies

 Notify Shop Storekeeper when supplies are needed

Skills

Requirements: must work as a current Support Services Supervisor, operate transit vehicles as needed, must not be on strike or accident probation, and must participate in weekly manager meetings.

 

Skills:

• The skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the Unitrans Support Services Manager may be acquired, to a large extent through on-the-job training and experience. Organize and supervise cleaning, including:
