Purpose
Works with the Aggie, the Enterprise, KDVS, other newspapers and radio stations, magazines, AGTV, and other TV stations in order to publicize all facets of Picnic Day.
Duties
As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.
Updates and maintains a comprehensive list of the media and their deadlines and contacts. Coordinates distribution of the Picnic Day Poster throughout campus and the community. Prepares ? page Aggie publicity ad. Develops templates for announcements for recruiting applications and volunteers. Prepares and submits multiple press releases to approximately 100 newspapers, radio and TV stations in the greater Sacramento area. Work with News Service and Dateline. Work with MU to promote Picnic Day on the plasma screen. Develops other publicity strategies with Chair and Vice Chair. Works with Graphics Director in preparing a press video. Works with all Directors to assess their publicity needs and helps them by sending out fliers, posters, etc. Distributes 28,000 of the Official Schedule of Events to the campus and community. Distributes all the signage prepared at the Sign Making Party. Organizes and staffs 6 Picnic Day Information Booths. Keeps a record or scrapbook of news articles. Selects and supervises 3-4 Assistant Directors. Prepares end-of year report. Attends weekly Board meetings. Holds mandatory office hours 7-10hrs. per week beginning in winter quarter.
