Purpose

The Parade Director is responsible for planning and organizing the event that kicks off Picnic Day, the Picnic Day Parade.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

Recruits Parade entries, creates applications that will be sent out to all departments, student groups, and off -campus groups. Works with the UC Davis and the City of Davis police departments and TAPS regarding permits, traffic and parking management for parade route and staging areas. Organizes the Parade entries, prepares the script for announcers. Oversees set-up and coordination of the parade. Recruits and supervises  Assistant Directors plus parade announcers. Administers Picnic Day Parade policies. Serves as the official liaison and escort for the Parade Marshals during the afternoon of Picnic Day. Prepares end-of year report. Attends weekly Board meetings and other meetings as necessary. Holds mandatory office hours 7-10 hrs. per week beginning in fall quarter.
