The Parade Director is responsible for planning and organizing the event that kicks off Picnic Day, the Picnic Day Parade.

Recruits Parade entries, creates applications that will be sent out to all departments, student groups, and off -campus groups. Works with the UC Davis and the City of Davis police departments and TAPS regarding permits, traffic and parking management for parade route and staging areas. Organizes the Parade entries and prepares the script for announcers. Oversees set-up and coordination of the parade. Recruits, trains, and supervises Assistant Directors. Administers Picnic Day Parade policies. Prepares end-of year report. Attends weekly Board meetings and other meetings as necessary. Holds mandatory office hours each week beginning in Fall Quarter.
