Purpose

***TRAINING FOR THIS POSITION WILL TAKE PLACE DECEMBER 17TH-21ST OVER WINTER BREAK***

ASUCD Dining Services is now hiring employees to work as baristas, food servers, cooks, and cashiers at BioBrew by Coho, CoHo South Café, and Manetti-Shrem Coffee Cart under a new position titled Satellite Operation Employee. In this position, employees will train, become well versed in the operation of, and be scheduled to work at multiple ASDS satellite operations. PLEASE NOTE: This posting is NOT for the Coffee House. Rather, this is a position at the satellite operations.

Interviews for this position will be held IN PERSON THE WEEKS OF NOV. 19TH AND 26TH. EXACT TIMES/DATES TBD.

Newly hired Satellite Operation Employees are required to attend orientation sessions the week of DECEMBER 3RD and 10TH.

Training will take place beginning the week of DECEMBER 17TH (FIRST WEEK OF WINTER BREAK). You MUST be available for all interview, orientation, and training dates...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Regular work schedules(minimum 12 hrs/week) will begin the week of JANUARY 7th.

Duties

Perform an assortment of duties, including, but not limited to:

  1. Display EXCELLENT customer service.
  2. Work in the BioBrew by CoHo and CoHo South Cafe to prepare and serve food and beverages to our customers.  You will learn how to brew coffee, work in a kitchen, serve a variety of food items, and make an assortment of espresso drinks.
  3. Ring up customers' purchases, stock various items and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
  4. Maintain a clean work area and dining room during a shift.
  5. Apply closing/cleaning techniques.
  6. Work a minimum of 12 hours per week.  This may include early mornings starting at 6:30 am, closing shifts ending at 11:30 pm, and working weekends and over school breaks.

As part of your employment, you are required to subscribe to the ASUCD newsletter.

Skills

  1. Please list all previous food service, cashiering and/or barista experience.  Experience is not necessary, but it is a plus.
  2. Must have a current CALIFORNIA FOOD HANDLER CARD within 2 weeks of employment. Cost is ~$15. Details will be given if you are hired.
  3. Must be able to follow directions and complete given tasks.
  4. Must display a positive attitude in the workplace and excellent customer service.
  5. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO INTERVIEW/TRAIN ON THE DAYS/TIMES LISTED ABOVE!
