Purpose

Responsible for all human resource-related functions for Unitrans student operations staff including hiring, retention, outreach, maintaining records, and discipline.

Eligibility requirements:

  1. Must be a current Unitrans employee in good standing

  2. Must be able and eligible to work through Spring 2020 under current ASUCD regulations

  3. Familiarity with Unitrans, its various departments, and policies

  4. Must be available for on-the-job training during Winter and Spring Quarter 2019 prior to assuming full HRM duties.

Supervisor:

Assistant General Manager, Administration

 

Duties:

 

  1. Human Resources

    1. Process all Leaving Unitrans forms and communicate with payroll

    2. Complete requests for part-time status letters and employment verifications

    3. Input all newly hired employees into UNI in a timely fashion

    4. Fill our ASUCD Hiring Packets and/or Change of Status forms when necessary

    5. Maintain and monitor the Unitrans Facebook pages

    6. Manage employee Lifetime Passes

    7. Intervene with disciplinary action when requested by departments

    8. Handle employee personnel needs ancillary HR duties

  2. Hiring

    1. Oversee all hiring processes for all student employee positions in Unitrans

    2. Must be present on every interview panel

    3. Create and publish annual Hiring Manual

    4. Post student employee positions on vacancy when requested

    5. Check/update positions descriptions when needed

    6. Maintain and organize all records of all position descriptions, posting, and hiring paperwork

    7. Ensure fair and equal hiring practices are executed with every single hiring

  3. Management

    1. Oversee Human Resources Assistants

    2. Oversee Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

    3. Meet weekly with HR Department to conjure projects and delegate tasks

    4. Schedule and attend weekly Managers Meetings

    5. Hold weekly office hours

  4. Recruitment

    1. Communicate hiring dates to Recruitment and Retention Coordinator and plan on recruitment dates

    2. Help schedule employees to help with outreach events

  5. Retention

    1. Oversee Recruitment and Retention Coordinator in planning frequent events for student staff

    2. Meet regularly with the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator to discuss retention efforts and evaluate effectiveness
