Purpose

Provide management level oversight to the support services program under the direction/assistance of the Unitrans Maintenance Manager

The successful candidate may hold this position through expected graduation date based on satisfactory performance in the position.

Duties

A. Organize and supervise vehicle cleaning, including:

  1. Schedule and assign weekly cleaning shifts

  2. Coordinate with different departments such as Operations, Shop, and STS to determine the schedule of vehicles to be cleaned

B. Supervise Support Services staff, including:

  1. Create weekly and weekend shift scheduling sheets

  2. Enforce the strike policy and maintain strike documentation

  3. Conduct quarterly meetings with Support Services staff

  4. Coordinate with Human Resources Manager to hire Support Services Supervisors and Assistants

  5. Coordinate and document training

    1. Oversee bus washer training and bus driving shadowing

    2. Maintain employee safety documentation folders and transcripts and ensure all trainings are up-to-date

  6. Review bi-weekly payroll records and report discrepancies to Payroll

C. Maintain cleaning equipment, washing area, and stock of cleaning equipment:

  1. Oversee maintenance of bus washer

  2. Maintain stock of cleaning equipment

Skills

A. Must be a current Support Services Supervisor

B. Operate transit vehicles on the Pad

C. Must not be on strike or accident probation

D. Participate in weekly manager meetings

E. Meet bi-weekly with the Maintenance Manager

 

The skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the Unitrans Support Services

Manager may be acquired, to a large extend, through on-the- job training and experience. Only general, fundamental attributes necessary for this position are listed below:
