The Studio Production Director (SPD) ensures the production of creative videos representing UC Davis student life. They oversee all phases of production for a project from concept, through post-production, to final release. With the help of the Assistant Studio Production Director, the SPD heads the Studio Production Department in Aggie Studios, consisting of videographers, editors, project directors, and more. They meet weekly with the team to brainstorm new video ideas and organize a production schedule for each quarter.

  • Attend weekly Executive Board Meetings (W 6-7pm) and General Meetings (W 7-8pm)
  • Direct creative projects to highlight student life at UC Davis

  • Reach out to prospective organizations on campus for video features and book shoots with the crew

  • Create production sheets, tailor video teams, and organize all phases of video production from pre-production to post-production

  • Turn conceptual ideas to visual realities

  • Keep in mind the best interests of Aggie Studios, Creative Media, ASUCD, and UC Davis community


  • High social skills, dynamism, and likability
  • Prioritization and ability to maintain multiple production schedules

  • Impeccable professional communication and writing capabilities

  • Experience in directing and video production

  • Ability to work under a deadline

  • Extensive knowledge of Aggie Studios’ methods of video production (pre-production, filming, editing, etc.)-preferred
