Purpose

Work on a student-led team to research the ASUCD bylaws, and how they fit into university, state, and federal policy.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

 

  1. Meet with the task force on a weekly basis.

  2. Familiarize yourself with the ASUCD bylaws, with an emphasis on specific sections to be the focus of your policy research.

  3. Research university, state, and federal policies to ensure any new ASUCD bylaws are in alignment.

  4. Keep track of the sources you use in your research to be added to the ASUCD bylaws as legal references. 

  5. Work with fellows from the law school to ensure accuracy.

Skills

 

  1. Comfort with understanding legal verbiage, such as that used in the ASUCD bylaws and university, state, and federal policies.

  2. Comfort with researching federal and state level policies with regard to ASUCD’s functioning.

  3. Detail-oriented.

  4. Consistent communication with task force leaders about your availability and schedule.

  5. Background in policy or policy research preferred, but not required. 

  6. Strong work ethic and passion.

  7. Previous experience in ASUCD or with the ASUCD bylaws is not required; applicants of a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
