Purpose

Assist Unit Director with a wide range of administrative tasks, such as hiring, organizational structuring, MU 167 transition, and partner org relations. 

Communicate and coordinate with UC Davis student organizations, campus centers, and academic departments to host donation drives, promote the Pantry's events, and support on-going basic needs efforts across UC Davis and the UC campus food pantry network. 

Duties

Onsite Pantry Shifts (3 hrs): Specific Days and Times TBA.
Be on site as needed to support onsite projects of Pantry staff and Pantry interns.
Tasks Include:
Coordinate any onsite interns involved with Projects Lead’s tasks.
Testing and implementing onsite projects that support the Pantry program.
Offsite Duties (4 hrs):
Research, design, and implement projects and protocols that support the Pantry Program.
Tasks Include:
Coordinate with Pantry Interns and other Pantry staff to implement projects to improve operations in a timely manner.
Projects for example could involve researching Pantry equipment, designing documents covering procedures and safety measures, improving food distribution systems, etc.

Skills

• Must be able to be present on the main UCD campus to take videos and photos.
• Strong Leadership and communication skills relative to work involving Pantry Team members, student users, partner orgs, and campus administration.
• Experience and/or vested interest in charitable work with an emphasis on basic needs and food security.
• Passion and/or future aspirations for public service or social work
• Capability to work independently and maintain task accountability in an entirely student run organization.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office products and Google equivalents. Google Sheets and excel capabilities are a bonus.

• Requirements:
• Comfort with regular electronic communication platforms such as email, text, and zoom.
• Positive attitude.
• This is a volunteer stipend position and may at times require dedication of time beyond specified hours.
• Capability to work independently and maintain task accountability in an entirely student run organization.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office products and Google equivalents. Google Sheets and excel capabilities are a bonus.
• Attend weekly meetings with the Pantry team and partner orgs.
• Communicate regularly with Pantry staff and partner orgs.
