Purpose

To ensure onsite distribution programs are adequately staffed and associated onsite tasks are completed in an organized and timely manner. This involves a decent amount of physical labor. Coordinators will ensure distribution programs are designed to best serve the basic needs of students, with an emphasis on food security and nutrition. Other responsibilities include communication and coordination with partner orgs at onsite programs, such as the Aggie Compass and donors.

Duties

• Onsite Pantry Shifts (4 hrs): Specific Days and times TBA.
• Oversee logistics of food acquisition, storage, food safety, and distribution program(s) in coordination with the other Distribution Coordinator. Work involves lifting light, heavy and awkward objects.
• Tasks Include:
• Track and maintain records of volunteer attendance, Food Bank deliveries, product donations, and Pantry inventory.
• Facilitate volunteers to ensure food program(s) are well supplied, stocked, and organized.
• Ensure that personnel who staff onsite work follow proper CVD-19 protocols, provide excellent customer service, and are engaging in proper duties and behavior.
• Ensure food meets quality and safety standards prior to distribution.
• Act as primary point of contact onsite for food suppliers, donors, orders, and the Pantry Director Team..
• Offsite Duties (3 hrs):
• Work with staff to ensure food program(s) order food and procure donations that best meet the basic needs of students. Items should also aim to promote nutrition and match the diversity of our student users.
• Tasks Include:
• Assess and improve food inventory, food supply avenues, and onsite distribution programs.
• Act as a primary point of contact for food sources, including the Yolo Food Bank.

Skills

• Strong Leadership and communication skills relative to work involving Pantry Team members, student users, partner orgs, and campus administration.
• Experience and/or vested interest in charitable work with an emphasis on basic needs and food security.
• Passion and/or future aspirations for public service or social work
• Capability to work independently and maintain task accountability in an entirely student run organization.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office products and Google equivalents. Google Sheets and excel capabilities are a bonus.

• Requirements:
• Comfort with regular electronic communication platforms such as email, text, and zoom.
• Positive attitude.
• This is a volunteer stipend position and may at times require dedication of time beyond specified hours.
• Capability to work independently and maintain task accountability in an entirely student run organization.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office products and Google equivalents. Google Sheets and excel capabilities are a bonus.
• Attend weekly meetings with the Pantry team and partner orgs.
• Communicate regularly with Pantry staff and partner orgs.
