Purpose

Assist the HAUS Unit Director with overseeing the operations (planning and execution) of the Virtual Housing Day 2021.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

  • Manage team of volunteers during Housing Day
  • Develop sustainable strategies for success for future events
  • Nurtur relationships between HAUS and property managers via Zoom
  • Facilitate weekly/bi-weekly volunteer meetings via Zoom
  • Meet with the HAUS Unit Directoy on a weekly basis
  • Propose any relevant project ideas
  • Meet with various housing-related task forces within ASUCD
  • Assist with the scheduling of Volunteer Meetings by coordinating calendars and working to accomodate the schedules of between 5 and 40 volunteer members

Skills

  • Creativity and flexibility; ability to contribute to a variety of projects being carried out by a diverse group of volunteers
  • Strong task ethic and a passion for affordable housing advocacy on behalf of UC Davis students
  • Strong time management skills
  • An ability to efficiently and effectively lead group meetings
  • Experience with project management and event planning preferred
  • Comfort with virtual communication over both email and Zoom, i.e. with Executive Office, campus staff, property managers, and city council members
  • Previous experience in ASUCD is not required; applicants of a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply
