Provide support, handle customer queries, and enter data in the Unitrans Business Office.

  • Receptionist in the Unitrans Business Office
    • Answer phones and respond to email correspondence from staff and customers.
    • Take messages and forward phone calls as appropriate.
    • Accurately inform customers about Unitrans routes, schedules, services, and other inquiries.
    • Handle customer complaints and commendations in a positive, amicable manner.
    • Greet visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
    • Maintain the positive atmosphere of the Business Office.
    • Assist and direct customers with non-valuable lost and found items.
    • Handle online bus pass transactions promptly.
  • Transit Customer Outreach
    • Teach community members how to use Unitrans as a form of transportation.
    • Conduct personal trip planning assistance.
    • Disseminate information about Unitrans service options at verious venues.
    • Coordinate group presentations.
    • Accompany community members on bus routes, as needed.
  • Computer Data Entry
    • Enter daily passenger count data.
    • Complete data entry tasks by deadlines specified by Business Office Manager.
    • Any other duties assigned by the Business Office Manager.


  • Ability to exercise a high degree of independent responsibility.
  • Ability to work and remain focused in a sometimes hectic atmosphere.
  • Ability to work with customers ina friendly, professional manner.
  • Identify core issues or questions and refer customers to appropriate resources.
  • Ability to navigate GPS-based website systems and operate MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good communication skills on the phone, in person, and via email.
  • Must be able to learn Unitrans policy, procedures, and routes. Knowledge of the campus and city of Davis is preferred.
  • Must be able to work summers, breaks, and Picnic Day.
  • Must be available to start training immediately.
