Work on a student-led team as an advocate for first-year UC Davis students living off campus during COVID, and complete special advocacy and educational projects to advocate for and protect the health and wellness of UC Davis students.

  • Meet with the task force on a weekly basis; propose any relevant project ideas to the task force.

  • Bring creative ideas and a willingness to work on cohesion between basic needs services on campus in light of COVID-19.

  • Keep fellow task force members updated on personal progress as related to the task force.

  • Tasks may include but are not limited to: researching COVID for the task force, surveying students to understand needs during the pandemic, event planning and management, graphic design. 



  • First-year status is not required, but must be able to represent the perspective and experiences of current first-years living outside of Davis or off-campus.

  • Ability to think critically about how best to provide students with information and resources during a pandemic.

  • Strong passion for advocacy and work ethic.

  • Consistent communication with task force leaders about your availability and schedule.

  • Comfort with virtual communication, ie with campus staff and campus leaders 

  • A drive to help fellow students living on the UC Davis campus

  • Previous experience in ASUCD or advocacy is not required; applicants of a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
