Purpose

The purpose of this position is to help Senator Bocardo-Aguilar achieve his platforms, which include the expansion and promotion of basic necessities like housing, food, giving more platforms to ethnic and cultural communities, and creating and promoting safe places for individuals to express their gender and sexuality. By working along side Senator Bocardo-Aguilar to help lead our team and execute our duties.

 

Duties

Attend weekly Staff Meetings.

Help lead weekly staff meetings

Attend Weekly Senate Meetings 

Help lead our team, by making sure we all have great communication all around and finding out how you and Senator Bocardo-Aguilar can both best 

support them. 

Work closely with Senator Bocardo-Aguilar and constantly advising him on proposed legislation, and taking charge of projects with the team.  

Fill Senator Bocardo-Aguilar’s spot when unable to attend a meeting.

I just want to emphasize that because as a first year I felt very discouraged to apply for a position like this one as I felt very unqualified because of my first year status. So please first years and transfers I really encourage y’all to apply. The only requirement is someone who is willing to learn and has a passion to make change that will make a difference here at UC Davis.
