Purpose

The position of the Transfer Student Representative (TSR), was created this spring in order to accurately represent transfer students in ASUCD. The ASUCD Senate consists of twenty-two members of which the Transfer Student Representative serves on to give valued input about transfer issues to the rest of the ASUCD Senate on a weekly basis. The Transfer Student Representative shall also represent ASUCD and the collective interest of the transfer student body during dialogue between University or campus administration. The ASUCD Transfer Student Representative shall strive to promote equity and represent the needs of the transfer student body as a member of the ASUCD.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

  • Attend all meetings of the ASUCD Senate (every Thursday from 6 pm until completion). If you are not sure that you can fulfill this requirement, please contact the President with your concerns.
  • Actively engaging the transfer student body and actively promoting, initiating, and supporting efforts to make UC Davis an equitable environment for transfer students
  • Remain in consistent contact with the Transfer and Reentry Center (TRC), Veterans Success Center, and any other department, program, or entity which provides services for the transfer student body.
  • Administering the Office of the Transfer Student Representative (OTSR) and organizing staff meetings at least once per week.
  • Hiring students to fill the positions within OTSR as needed.
  • Serve as the UC Davis representative to the University of California Student Association (UCSA) statewide transfer coalition.
