Purpose
The Chairperson of the ASUCD Internal Affairs Commission leads efforts to recommend and author policy regarding improvements to the internal operations, structure, legislative procedures, and financial practices of ASUCD. The Chair serves as the presiding officer of all IAC meetings and is supposed to advise the legislative branch to maintain clarity in and help enforce ASUCD’s governing documents. The Chair oversees internal projects to develop and helps further the mission of the commission.
This position is budgeted to end on June 4, 2022 with the possible extension prior to the end date into the next budgeted fiscal year end date.
Duties

- Coordinates and leads weekly IAC meetings at a consistent time made public.
- Ensures that meeting minutes, an updated roster, and any other relevant information is always made public by regularly communicating with SGAO.
- Provides legislative recommendations at Senate meetings for each bill that IAC reviews/votes on and enforces adherence to the governing documents at each Senate meeting.
- Collaborates with other members of the Association regarding long-term planning & legislative drafting.
- Facilitates all unique responsibilities given to them as enumerated in the ASUCD Bylaws.
- Serves as a voting member on subordinate bodies of the following subordinate body of the ASUCD Senate- URSAC; Executive Advisory Council; Volunteer Award Committee; Elections Committee.
- Ensures that independent projects of commissioners are progressing and that tasks under commissioners are fairly delegated.
- Hires and serves a direct supervisor to Commissioners and Vice Chair of Regulation & Finance.
- Attends all interviews that require the IAC Chairperson’s presence & hiring vote

- Has previous experience of working with ASUCD legislation.

- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn, an incredible work ethic, and interpersonal skills to traverse conflicts and/or difficult circumstances.
- Has interest and ambition to sustain the role and devoutly serve the student body at UC Davis.
