Purpose
Provide management oversight to the Route Training program.
The successful candidate may hold this position through the expected graduation date based on satisfactory performance in the position.

Duties

A. Oversee Route Trainers
1.Work with the Human Resource Manager (HRM) to ensure an adequate number of Route Trainers(RTs) are hired and trained.
2.Implement and oversee RT training program.
3.Maintain and update RT manual.
4.Assist the Training Manager in monitoring RT performance to ensure that all RTs are performing up to Unitrans standards.
5.Organize RT evaluation sheets andensure timely tracking.
6.Evaluate RTs
7.Maintain regular communication with all RTs
8.Lead weekly RT sign-up sheet
9.Enter RT evaluation sheets in spreadsheet
10.Maintain weekly RT sign-up sheet
11.Ensure RT driving requirements are all filled; coordinate RT shift summary approval with TDM during Priority.
12.Assigning the Route Trainer Manager Assistant with tasks
13.Checking on trainees progress with meetings if relevant
B. Oversee Route Trainees
1.Ensure trainees fulfill requirements
2.Communicate with route trainees to ensure quick completion of training
3.Recommend approval of route trainees for revenue service
4.Make approval recommendations to Training Manager when a route trainee finishes
C. Other Responsibilities
1.Lead hiring process for new Route Trainersâ—‹Recruit RTs and promote training program with Unitrans
2.Work with career staff regarding termination of RTs
3.Assist Training Manager in training department retreat planning and implementation
4.Oversee quarterly Transit Driver evaluations in coordination with Driver Trainer Manager
5.Coordinate Summer Refreshers
6.Assist as needed with training program
7.Must meet weekly with the training manager.
8.Must be available to work during summer 2022 and the 2022-2023 school year.

Skills
1.Must have worked at least 150 Route Training total hours
2.Must have a good driving record, with no avoidable accidents or safety probations within the past school year (September 2021-2022 present. And must not be on any kind of probation currently.
3.Ability to demonstrate good organization and time management skills.
4.Should provide leadership to RTs and Trainees.
5.Must be able to exercise sound independent judgment of self and others.
6.Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
7.Must be able to quickly establish and maintain a strong working relationship with Unitrans management and training staff, particularly the Training Manager, Driver Training Manager, and Human Resources Manager.
