Purpose

The distribution manager is responsible for distributing the weekly print edition of The California Aggie to newsstands on campus and throughout the city on Thursday mornings. The distribution manager is also responsible for tracking the paper’s pickup numbers and brainstorming new and innovative ways to increase distribution and readership.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

  • Lead morning distribution on Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Coordinate morning distribution with managing staff and ensure that there is at least one other person to assist with distribution each week.
  • Keep data on traffic at distribution sites and collaborate with the business development manager and editor-in-chief to increase readership and circulation.
  • Develop distribution network throughout campus and in city of Davis.
  • Update editor-in-chief on issues or difficulties as they arise.
  • Attends required manager meetings, including weekly storyboard meetings
  • Table for The Aggie weekly
  • Must complete UC Managing Implicit Bias Series from University of California Learning Center within 2 weeks of being hired or have completed the series in the past year
  • Must successfully complete University Learning Center Course Safe Driver Awareness Training prior to operating a vehicle and           refresher training every 3 years as well as abide by UC Davis Policy and Procedure Manual for Motor Pool Policies Chapter 300, Travel & Transportation Section 30 University Owned.

Time Commitment:

  • The distribution manager is budgeted for 8 billable hours per week, please see ASUCD Budget for paid weeks.
