Purpose

The Unitrans Advertising Sales Representative is responsible for all aspects of the Unitrans advertising sales program, including but not limited to sales of advertising space on the Unitrans bus fleet, installation and removal of ad media provided by clients, contract and payment tracking, and general maintenance of installed ad media.

The successful candidate may hold this position through expected graduation date based on satisfactory performance in the position.

Duties

  1. Review the Unitrans advertising guidelines, including ad space pricing and the sales schedule, and complete updates as needed.

  2. Develop and maintain a database of current and potential advertising clients, including data on ad packages sold and contacts made throughout the year.

  3. Schedule regular office hours to receive and promptly respond to inquiries received from current and potential advertising clients via email and voice mail.

  4. Direct and complete the removal and installation of all advertising media on the exterior and interior of Unitrans’ bus fleet (50 total buses). This requires extensive coordination with staff and physical labor conducted in an outdoor setting concentrated on nights and weekends.

  5. Sell available ad space on a first-come, first-served basis, and then maintain a wait-list for future ad space availability.

  6. Prepare, distribute, and manage all advertising contract documents.

  7. Work with administrative staff to complete customer billing through the ASUCD Business Office.

  8. Assist advertising clients with media production and delivery questions.

  9. Perform periodic review and maintenance of installed advertising media and replace damaged/missing media.

Skills

No experience is required, but attention to detail, good customer service & communication skills, and an ability to work with many types of people on a professional basis is a must. Limited Word and Excel knowledge is required. Work hours are flexible, although some evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines, particularly during the summer when the bulk of advertising sales and installations take place. Must be available to work during Summer 2023 (on-site during the months of July and September 2023, option for flexible work arrangements during August 2023).
