Purpose
The Advisory Committee
serves as a liaison between the Entrepreneurship Fund and the student body,
especially grant recipients.
Duties
As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.
The main
responsibilities of Advisory Committee Members are:
1. Providing assistance to
recent grant recipients, which includes:
- Maintaining regular contact with grantees
- Keeping track of
grantee funding and taking note of grantee progress
- Finding resources that the grantees may need to succeed
2. Host at least one
weekly office hour session (2 hours)
- Great communication
skills and sound business sense are key for success in the Advisory Committee
- Desire to help
aspiring student entrepreneurs overcome obstacles
- Ability to listen
(remember that this is their business, not yours -- you give advice, not
demands)
- Dependable and
punctual
- Ability to take
independent initiative
- Organizational skills
- Office hours entail
answering any questions students may have about the grant process or their
businesses, checking in with recipients, and just generally being available to
help
