Purpose

The Coffee House is now hiring employees to work out front to serve food to our customers. A week-long training session will begin ASAP, with regular hours to begin after training has been completed.  Because you are being hired late in the school year, summer employment is not guaranteed, but if you are hired (and there are no other performance-related issues) you will be guaranteed a spot for fall quarter 2012.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

Perform an assortment of duties, including, but not limited to:
1. Display EXCELLENT customer service.
2. Work in the various areas of the Coffee House to prepare and serve food to our customers. You will learn how to build burritos, brew coffee, prepare pho and curry soup, and make sandwiches and bagels to order.
3. Stock and maintain a clean area during a shift.
4. Work in the dish room and apply closing/cleaning techniques.
5. Work a minimum of 15 hours per week. This may include early mornings starting at 6:30am, closing shifts ranging between 6pm-10pm Monday through Friday, weekends and special events.

Skills

  1. No experience necessary. We will train you, however, please list all previous food experience on your application.
  2. Must be able to follow directions and complete given tasks.
  3. Must display a positive attitude in the workplace.
  4. Must have a valid California Food Handler card within 2 weeks of employment.  Details will be given at time of hiring.
  5. MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR SCHOOL/EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY SCHEDULE IN THE BODY OF YOUR APPLICATION!*
  6. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO TRAIN IMMEDIATELY!

    *Your availability to fill our open hours will be taken into consideration when making hiring decisions.  Please list any activities that would prevent you from working.  If you are hired, a proposed schedule will be sent to you. If you choose not to accept the schedule that we give you, then your employment may be delayed until the beginning of fall quarter 2012 or cancelled altogether.
