Purpose

The Coffee House is now hiring a CoHo security team for fall quarter 2010! Employees will be expected to maintain security for customers and employees of the Coffee House and to monitor for shoplifting in all services areas.

Interviews for this position will be held in person September 4th -- September 7th.

Newly hired employees are required to attend an orientation session on Friday, September 14th from 2:00 - 5:00pm

Training will take place from September 17th through September 21st and work schedules will begin on the first day of fall instruction: Thursday, September 27th.

Duties

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter.

Perform an assortment of duties, including, but not limited to: 1. Identify customers who are stealing from the Coffee House. 2. Interact with customers on a professional level to clarify potential theft situations. 3. Gather information from students/staff for official documentation of theft incidents. 4. Communicate with management when incidents occur, noting time, location and physical attributes of suspect. 5. Learn how to use security camera system to help further identify potential suspects. 6. Work a minimum of 15 HOURS PER WEEK. This may include early mornings starting at 7:00am, closing shifts ranging between 6pm - 11pm Monday through Friday, weekends and special events.

Skills

1. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN SECURITY (ESPECIALLY IN THE RETAIL FIELD) IS HELPFUL BUT NOT NECESSARY. 2. MUST BE ABLE TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND COMPLETE GIVEN TASKS. 3. MUST WORK PRODUCTIVELY WITH THE FACILITY MANAGER TO MINIMIZE THEFT AT THE COFFEE HOUSE. 4. MUST DISPLAY A POSITIVE ATTITUDE IN THE WORKPLACE. 5.MUST BE AVAILABLE TO INTERVIEW/TRAIN ON THE DAYS/TIMES LISTED ABOVE!
