Associated Students Dining Services (comprised of the ASUCD Coffee House, CoHo-To-Go Convenience Store and the CoHo South Café) is looking for a motivated, qualified student to take on the role of Marketing Intern.  AS Dining Services is a unique, primarily student-staffed food service operation focused on offering sustainable, made-from-scratch menu items to the UC Davis community.  

The student selected for this internship should be prepared to immerse him or herself in the AS Dining Services culture to gain first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of the operation.  The intern will be expected to work independently to set and achieve goals and to also communicate effectively with the AS Dining Services management team to foster a collaborative process.  The student selected will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of marketing, including market research, promotional development, and traditional, print and social media advertising techniques.

1.      Develop and assist in implementation of a marketing calendar for all three ASDS operations
Work with vendors to facilitate promotions and giveaways

3.      Assist in reviewing/upgrading/creating signage to professionally communicate with our customers
Conduct surveys and organize focus groups

Update the AS Dining Service website as needed

Maintain the AS Dining Service Twitter and Facebook accounts

Monitor all social media references to AS Dining Services operations (Davis Wiki, Yelp, etc.), analyze and report to management team; recommend course of action based on research


1.      Must be a UC Davis student
Able to work at 10-15 hours per week

3.      Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of social media and web-based marketing tools

Knowledge of AS Dining Service operations a plus

Personal laptop for on-site work a plus

Marketing experience not required but will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this position
